We had a lot of challenges in 2017, dealing with the remnants of the 5-year drought

and the flooding from the Pineapple Express atmospheric river.

This year we look forward to more normal times but we’ve been through the worst so WE ARE READY.

The first workday of the season is as always a winter training class in herbicide application.  It will be held at The Visitor Center on Franklyn Road on January 27 at 9:00 AM.   It ‘s only for a day and it’s not that hard.

Believe it or not, a lot of the information is interesting and applicable to your everyday life.  Some good things to learn.

For instance:  Gasoline, Nicotine, Caffeine, Bleach, and Tylenol are more toxic than anything that we/you will use on The Preserve.  You might want to reconsider how you use those products at home.  Oh well.

The rest of the year will be all fun and games with Alex Cabrera, our exalted leader, “catering” to our every need.

I hope to see you there, we cant do it alone and need your help.

Joe Watson
