Management & Cooperators
The Cosumnes River Preserve is managed through a unique and collaborative partnership of public agencies, nonprofit organizations, and private stakeholders. Together, we work to protect, restore, and steward over 50,000 acres of Central Valley wetland and riparian habitat for current and future generations.
Managing Partners
The Preserve is governed by a consortium of managing partners who guide strategic planning, land management, restoration, education, and public access:
Bureau of Land Management (BLM)
The Nature Conservancy (TNC)
California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW)
California Department of Water Resources (DWR)
California State Lands Commission
Ducks Unlimited
Sacramento County Regional Parks
Sacramento Valley Conservancy
Galt Joint Union Elementary School District
Natural Resources Conservation Service
Working Together
Through this collaborative model, the Cosumnes River Preserve demonstrates how partnerships can effectively protect critical natural resources, support scientific research, and engage the public in conservation stewardship.
