Everything you need to know before you visit Cosumnes River Preserve
Plan Your Visit
We welcome you to explore the Preserve, with walking trails, boardwalks, paddling opportunities, and a visitor center that features indoor and outdoor interpretive displays.
Address: 13501 Franklin Blvd, Galt, CA 95632
Gate Hours: Boardwalk and lower parking lot, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM; upper parking lot, 9:00 AM–6:30 PM.
Visitor Center Hours: CLOSED MONDAY AND TUESDAYS Our Visitor Center hours vary to best align with staff and volunteer availability. We do our best to be open whenever possible and appreciate your understanding and support.
Please Note: Day-use only. No pets (except service animals), no camping.

Directions:
From I-5: Exit at Twin Cities Road → east ~1 mi → right onto Franklin Rd → Visitor Center on left in ~2 mi.
Alternate routes from Hwy 99: Exit Twin Cities Rd → west ~7 mi → left on Bruceville Rd → 2 mi to Desmond Rd → merge onto Desmond Rd → left on Franklin Blvd → Visitor Center on left in ~1 mi.
Visitor Guidelines & What to Know
- No pets allowed (except service animals).
- No camping — day-use only.
- Facilities available: restrooms, picnic tables, outdoor exhibits, walking trails, boardwalks, boat launch.
- Trails and waterways are open sunrise to sunset.
- Bring essentials: water, sun protection, insect repellent — especially in warm or wet seasons.
