Everything you need to know before you visit Cosumnes River Preserve
Preserve & Visitor Center Hours
The preserve (parking lots, trails, restrooms, boat launch, and boardwalks) is open every day. Parking & restrooms are available 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
The Visitor Center is generally open:
Wednesday – Friday: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Saturday & Sunday: open, but hours vary (staffed by volunteers)
Even when the indoor exhibit room is closed, the Visitor Center’s deck and outdoor exhibits remain open to the public.

13501 Franklin Blvd, Galt, CA 95632
Directions:
From I-5: Exit at Twin Cities Road → east ~2 mi → right onto Bruceville Rd → 2 mi to Desmond Rd → merge onto Desmond Rd → left on Franklin Blvd → Visitor Center on left in ~1 mi.
Alternate routes from Hwy 99: Exit Twin Cities Rd → west ~7 mi → left on Bruceville Rd → continues as above.
Visitor Guidelines & What to Know
- No pets allowed (except service animals).
- No camping — day-use only.
- Facilities available: restrooms, picnic tables, outdoor exhibits, walking trails, boardwalks, boat launch.
- Trails and waterways are open sunrise to sunset.
- Bring essentials: water, sun protection, insect repellent — especially in warm or wet seasons.
