Hello All,

Lynette and I did the monthly Tall Forest and surroundings bird survey today, accompanied by John Trochet for the Tall Forest itself and by Michael and Marianne Perrone for the full survey. Conditions were good, sunny and calm with some heat by the end. 

Our highlight was seeing two Hermit Warblers in the Tall Forest. Other early migrants included some Wilsons Warblers and Western Flycatchers. Unfortunately, the Yellow Warbler pair in the accidental forest is feeding a fledgling cowbird. There might be another pair or two there, but I did not try to track down their fates after tracking down the first pair’s.
