Volunteer Naturalists are a key part of why and how the Preserve is so successful. They help Preserve Staff with a multitude of projects and have opportunities to learn and grow in their knowledge of flora, fauna, conservation, and restoration!

So what do they do?

  • Staff the Visitor Center on Weekends
  • Lead nature walks
  • Guide paddling tours
  • Assist with bird and other wildlife surveys
  • Help with outreach events
  • Work on other special restoration projects!

*To become a Volunteer Naturalist you must attend one of the Preserve’s Volunteer Naturalist Training’s which are offered a few times each year. Our Summer 2020 session is now OPEN.

The training is a 4-week course. Dates: July 11, 18, 25, and August 1st from 9am-1pm
