Volunteer Naturalists are a key part of why and how the Preserve is so successful. They help Preserve Staff with a multitude of projects and have opportunities to learn and grow in their knowledge of flora, fauna, conservation, and restoration!

So what do they do?

Staff the Visitor Center on Weekends
Lead nature walks
Guide paddling tours
Assist with bird and other wildlife surveys
Help with outreach events
Work on other special restoration projects!

*To become a Volunteer Naturalist you must attend one of the Preserve’s Volunteer Naturalist Training’s which are offered a few times each year. Our Summer 2020 session is now OPEN.

The training is a 4-week course. Dates: July 11, 18, 25, and August 1st from 9am-1pm
