Volunteer Naturalists are a key part of why and how the Preserve is so successful. They help Preserve Staff with a multitude of projects and have opportunities to learn and grow in their knowledge of flora, fauna, conservation, and restoration!
So what do they do?
- Staff the Visitor Center on Weekends
- Lead nature walks
- Guide paddling tours
- Assist with bird and other wildlife surveys
- Help with outreach events
- Work on other special restoration projects!
*To become a Volunteer Naturalist you must attend one of the Preserve’s Volunteer Naturalist Training’s which are offered a few times each year. Our Summer 2020 session is now OPEN.
The training is a 4-week course. Dates: July 11, 18, 25, and August 1st from 9am-1pm
