The Visitor Center is the focal point for the majority of public access and education at the Preserve. It features a 400 square foot deck with permanent interpretive exhibits displayed both inside and outside the building. The Visitor Center deck and outdoor exhibits are open to the public even when the indoor exhibit room is closed.
The Visitor Center is open and staffed by volunteers on Saturday, Sunday and Holidays from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. The Visitor Center is often open during the weekday but hours vary. During July and August Visitor Center hours are 9:00 am to 1:00 p.m.. The Visitor Center features interpretive displays and interactive educational exhibits, as well as picnic tables and rest rooms.
A few things to keep in mind…
- This is not a park; this is a nature preserve and a State-designated Ecological Reserve.
Pets are prohibited from entering the Reserve, except when they remain inside of a motor vehicle. CCR TITLE 14 630(h)(16)
- Bikes are not allowed on the trails. However you are are welcome to lock your bike up at the Visitor Center and walk the trails.
