We’ll explore part of the River Walk Trail and talk about the plants we see and the animals we might see. We’ll imagine ourselves living off the land as the Plains Miwoks did. We’ll also traverse the Wetlands Walk Trail and see the migratory waterfowl and maybe a few Sandhill Cranes. This is a leisurely walk on a trail that is unpaved in sections and paved in others. Our route will take us approximately three and a half miles, but participants who do not wish to walk that far may turn around at any time. Good family activity. Participants may want to bring binoculars or borrow a set for free from the Preserve (quantity limited). Meet at 9:00 on the Visitor Center deck.
