Every year the City of Galt welcomes local and surrounding communities to celebrate nature and winter wildlife! This annual festival includes an in-person vending experience, multiple talks and lectures, guided tours and nature hikes, art contests, and so much more!

    Join us for a vernal pool plant excursion at Cosumnes River Preserve on Friday April 26th! This tour will be led by Sara Sweet, Stewardship Ecologist at The Nature Conservancy, and Cynthia Powell, Calflora's Executive Director.

    The Cosumnes River Preserve is in Sacramento County. Here are some of the native plant taxa we might see including Cicendia quadrangularis.

    This excursion will be about 3 miles with 150 foot (50 m) elevation gain; make sure this is a distance you can comfortably accomplish in 3 hours.
