Come join our Cosumnes River Preserve Paddle team for a Free bat paddle. We will be paddling from the Visitor Center to the Franklin Bridge (0.7 miles) to watch the sunset and then shortly thereafter to watch over 70,000 Mexican Free Tail bats fly out into the sky. If we are lucky, we will get to see Swainson’s hawk and other raptors grab their next meal from the sky.
***You must supply your own canoe/kayak/SUP and all participants are required to wear a PFD**
Make sure to RSVP for this special event because space is limited to the first 50 participants.
Please only sign up if you are really sure you can make it, no shows are a real bummer.
There is nor charge for the paddle or for parking.
This event starts at 7:00 p.m. and we are planning to be at the bridge by sunset at 8:34 p.m. after the bats fly out we will paddle back to the CRP boat dock with the moon lighting the way. All participants will need to be off the water by 10:00 p.m.
